Sub-processors
The third parties Kontala uses to process personal data for customers of Kontala Marketing OS, what each one does, and where.
When you use Kontala Marketing OS, Kontala processes personal data on your behalf as your processor, under our Data Processing Agreement. These are the third parties, called sub-processors, that we use to do so.
Current sub-processors
| Sub-processor | What it does | Personal data | Where the data is held |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Cloud | Hosts the Kontala app, website tag, collector and Kontala Analytics, and stores and analyses the data they handle | All the data the Services process, as described in Annex 1 of the Data Processing Agreement | European Union: Belgium, and Google's EU multi-region |
| Proton AG | Sends the emails the Kontala app sends, such as invitations, password resets and account notices | Names and email addresses of your people who use Marketing OS, and your organisation's name | Switzerland |
Kontala Analytics is software we run ourselves, on Google Cloud, so it is not a separate sub-processor.
Not sub-processors
Some services connected with Kontala never receive the personal data we process for you:
- DB-IP and origin-asn. We work out location and network from databases that run inside our own systems, so no IP address is sent to their publishers. If you share maps of location data, credit "IP Geolocation by DB-IP".
- Shopify. If you use our Shopify pixel, Shopify is your processor and sends your store's checkout events to us; it does not process data for Kontala.
Changes to this list
We will tell you at least 30 days before a new sub-processor starts processing your data, by email to your organisation's admins and by updating this page. You can object to a new sub-processor as section 7 of the Data Processing Agreement describes.
To be told about changes even if you are not an admin, email privacy@kontala.com with the subject "Sub-processor updates".
