Connect to FreeAgent

If your books also live in FreeAgent, you can connect it to Kontala. Once connected, every expense that is approved in Kontala is pushed to FreeAgent automatically, so there is no re-keying.

Managing integrations needs permission level Tax, Accounting & Users or higher - see User permission levels.

Connect

1. Open the account menu - the button showing your company name, top right - and choose Integrations.
2. On the FreeAgent card, choose Connect to FreeAgent.
3. Sign in to FreeAgent and approve the connection.
4. Back in Kontala, the card shows a green Connected badge with the date you connected.

What gets pushed

Approved expenses are pushed shortly after approval - see Submit and approve expenses. On an approved expense, a badge shows how the push went:

• Pushed to FreeAgent - the push succeeded. Click the badge to open the expense in FreeAgent.
• Pushing to FreeAgent… - the push is on its way.
• FreeAgent push failed - choose Retry to push it again.
• Not pushed to FreeAgent - choose Push now to push it manually.

The badge appears for users with permission level 7 or higher.

Disconnect

On the Integrations page, choose Disconnect on the FreeAgent card. New approvals stop being pushed, and anything already pushed stays in FreeAgent. You can reconnect at any time - see Manage integrations.
