Send a statement of account

A statement of account shows a contact every charge and payment between you in one running-balance ledger, ending with the total they owe.

View the statement

1. Open the contact from Contacts and choose the Statement of Account tab.
2. Kontala shows the year to date by default. Change the From and To dates and choose Show statement to reload it.
3. Under Show, switch between All transactions and Outstanding items. Outstanding items lists what is currently unpaid, so the date range does not apply to it.

If you have dealt with the contact in more than one currency, a Currency picker appears so you can produce one statement per currency.

The statement carries your company details and logo, the contact's address, each line with a running balance, the total owed as at the end date, and a Payment Reference for the contact to use. In the All transactions view it opens with the period's opening balance.

Download the PDF

Choose Save as PDF. The download matches exactly what is on screen, with your company name and the contact's name in the filename.

Email it to the contact

1. Choose Send by email.
2. Check the To address. It is pre-filled from the contact, using the billing email when one is set, and you can separate multiple addresses with a comma.
3. Edit the Subject and Content if you like, and tick Email a copy to me for a copy in your own inbox.
4. Choose Send email.

The Attachment line shows the PDF that will be sent; it always matches the statement on screen. After sending, a confirmation shows who it went to, and the next time you open the dialog it reminds you when the statement was last sent.
