The Overview dashboard

Go to Reports and choose Dashboards. The page opens on the Overview tab - a quick picture of how the business is doing.

Cashflow

The Cashflow card charts money in against money out for each of the last 12 months, as paired Incoming and Outgoing bars. Beside the chart are the totals for the period: Incoming, Outgoing, and the net Balance, shown in green when positive and red when negative.

The card is built from the transactions in your bank accounts, so import your statements regularly to keep it accurate.

Invoice Timeline

The Invoice Timeline card stacks the value of your sent invoices month by month, split into Overdue, Due, and Paid. The Outstanding figure underneath is the total your customers currently owe.

From here you can start a New invoice or choose View all invoices - see Invoice statuses for what the three groups mean.

Banking

The Banking card shows your total balance across All accounts, with a line chart of how that balance has moved over the last 12 months. Use Add account or View all bank accounts to jump straight into Banking.

The VAT Dashboard tab

The second tab, VAT Dashboard, is a live view of your VAT account with HMRC - open returns, what you owe, payments, and penalties. See The VAT Dashboard.
