Track income and costs by project

Link documents to a project as you create them, and each one carries the project it belongs to.
Link documents to a project
- Purchase orders: pick the project under Link to project on the order form.
- Bills: the bill form has an Is this a project bill? card with a Link to project field.
- Expenses: the expense claim form has an Is this a project expense? card with a Link to project field.
On bills and expenses the picker offers your active projects, and you can add or change the link when you edit the document. A bill created from a project-linked purchase order keeps the project link automatically.
Invoices and estimates do not currently offer a project field, so project linking covers your spending documents today.
What a project is, and is not
A Kontala project is a grouping label linked to a contact. There is no time tracking and there are no timesheets: nothing in Kontala records hours worked, and the budget and billing rate on a project are reference details rather than something Kontala measures work against.
To see what a project has cost you, open the linked documents themselves: each bill and expense shows the project it belongs to.
