Create your Kontala account

You create your Kontala account on the Kontala website, not in the app. Signing up starts a free trial, and you do not need to enter a card.

Sign up

1. Go to the sign-up page.
2. Enter your Full name and Work email, and optionally a Phone number.
3. Enter your Business name and choose your Business type: limited company, sole trader, partnership, landlord, or corporation. Kontala is currently available to UK businesses only.
4. Tick to agree to the Terms and Privacy Policy, then choose Create my account.

If your email address already has a Kontala account, you are sent to the sign-in page instead.

Verify your email

We email a verification link to the address you entered, and the Check your inbox page confirms where it went. If it has not arrived after a minute or two, check your spam folder, or choose Resend the link.

Set your password

The link in the email opens the Set your password page.

1. Choose a password of at least 8 characters, and enter it again to confirm.
2. Choose Create my company.

This is the password that protects your books, so make it a strong one - see Secure Password.

Kontala then creates your account, sets up your company, and prepares your chart of accounts. This usually takes a few seconds, and you are then taken to the app to sign in.
