Reconnect or disconnect a source
Refresh an expired open banking connection, or remove a source you no longer want linked.
Last updated 10 July 2026.
You are always in control of what Kontala is connected to.
Reconnect
Open banking access expires roughly every 90 days, and connections can also drop if you change your online banking password. When that happens, Kontala shows a prompt to reconnect:
- Go to Settings → Connections.
- Find the source marked Needs attention and choose Reconnect.
- Sign in on your bank's page and re-approve access.
Your feed picks up where it left off.
Disconnect
To remove a source, open Settings → Connections, choose it, and select Disconnect. Kontala stops reading new data from it immediately. Transactions already imported stay on your account until you choose to remove them - see Reset your data.
If a feed keeps dropping, see Fix a broken connection.
