Your VAT compliance status explained
What the compliance status card shows you - your period, deadline, status, and headline VAT figures.

The compliance status card is the first thing you see in Kontala. It answers one question at a glance: are you on top of this VAT period?
What it shows
- Your current VAT period and the date its return is due.
- A deadline countdown - how long you have left to file and pay.
- A status - on track, due soon, or overdue - see Deadlines and statuses.
- Your headline figures - VAT due on sales, VAT you can reclaim, and total sales, drawn from your connected data.
Why it changes
The card updates as new transactions come in, so the figures reflect your real position rather than a month-old snapshot. If a number looks off, it is usually because some transactions are still uncategorised or flagged - see How Kontala works out your figures.
