The regulated bank connection
How Kontala's open banking connection is provided and regulated, and where to turn if something goes wrong.

When you connect a bank account, Kontala does not handle your bank credentials itself. The connection is provided through a regulated open banking partner.
Who provides it
Kontala's account information service is provided by Yapily Connect Ltd, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (firm reference number 827001) under the Payment Services Regulations.
What that protects
- The connection is read-only - it can retrieve transaction information but cannot move money.
- You authorise access on your bank's own secure page, and you can withdraw it at any time - see Reconnect or disconnect a source.
If something goes wrong
For issues with the regulated account information service specifically, you may be able to raise a complaint with the Financial Ombudsman Service. For anything else, contact our team and we will help.
